With the closing of the exhibition “Collection Martin and Veronika Burckhardt – Of Private Treasures and Public Commitment”, the 51 loans from the Karl August Burckhardt-Koechlin Fund in the Kupferstichkabinett have returned to the Kunstmuseum Basel. The works from the family collection have returned to the care of the Burckhardt family.

For several weeks, FOR ART presented a unique presentation: works from the private collection of Martin and Veronika Burckhardt were shown alongside works from the Karl August Burckhardt-Koechlin Fund founded by Martin Burckhardt. The exhibition highlighted how closely private collecting and public cultural patronage can be connected.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Burckhardt family for their trust, especially Barbara Langensteiner-Burckhardt and Leonhard Burckhardt. Our gratitude also goes to Tom Koechlin, President of the Karl August Burckhardt-Koechlin Fund, Anita Haldemann, Head of the Kupferstichkabinett, as well as all the supporters and helpers who made this exhibition possible. And, of course, we thank the many visitors for their great interest.

The house at Rittergasse 25 will now enter its summer break.

The collective drawing project “Cadavre Exquis”, Peter Knapp’s wall installation “The Yellow Words”, and Michael Vessa’s installation DWI (Drawing While Infirmed) remain freely accessible at Rittergasse 21 during the opening hours of the FOR ART Café-Bar.
