Today, two more signatures were added to the ‘Bridge Kick’ art intervention by Klaus Littmann. At 11.30 a.m. Sabine Mammitzsch, head of the German team delegation, and Ralph-Uwe Schaffert, Vice President of the German Football Association (DFB), visited the Mittlere Brücke. There they met Mads Magaard, Event Manager of the Danish delegation. Both Sabine Mammitzsch and Mads Magaard signed one of the oversized footballs – symbolising today’s match between the two teams from Germany and Denmark – and left a personal message.

‘I’m delighted that another strong symbol of team spirit and solidarity has been created in Basel shortly before today’s match between Germany and Denmark,’ says artist Klaus Littmann. He continues: “The joint signature by delegations from both national teams on the second ball of the “Bridge Kick” art installation shows what football – and art – can achieve at their best: Connection, respect and mutual appreciation. ‘Danish Dynamite’ and “We #inTeam” – the two messages are representative of what “Bridge Kick” wants to embody and carry the spirit of togetherness far beyond the pitch.”

The five ‘Bridge Kick’ footballs represent the five matches taking place in Basel’s St. Jakob-Park. Last week, Coumba Sow, Switzerland’s national team player, and Lise Klaveness, President of the Norwegian Football Association, signed the first oversized football on the Mittlere Brücke.
